Simone Biles
Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. She is considered by many to be one of the most outstanding athletes. The 2016 Olympics were held in Rio de Janeiro and Biles became the U.S.'s the first gymnast of female gender to win 4 gold medals. She also won the title of world champion for all-around, three times in succession (2013-15). Biles was born within Spring Texas, in the Houston metro region. Biles and her sister Adria had been adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone's fascination with gymnastics started when she was just six years old when she took a trip with her day-care group to Bannon Gymnastix. Simone remained with Aimee Borman as coach from 2011. Biles was awarded a silver medal in vault in 2010 and a bronze at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships. Biles then advanced to competitions at the elite level in the year 2011. She was the most dominant in her sport just two years later. Biles was distinguished by her consistent performance, exuberant persona, and the difficulty of her routines across the four events she competed in: vaulting, uneven bars, and balance beam.
