Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English artist and singer was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. In 2014, following a career as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. It peaked at number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles which included Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. top-ranked song New Rules which peaked at sixth on the charts in the United States. Lipa has won Brit Awards in 2018 in the categories of British Female Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British. Furthermore, the platinum-certified album is a coveted honor throughout the world. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. By way of her maternal grandparents, Dua Lipa is Bosnian. Her ancestors can also be identified back to the Kosovo cities of Peja. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. She is a sister to Rina Lipa, and has an older brother called Gjin. Lipa learned guitar playing and sing with her father Oda. Oda is the leader singer/guitarist for the Kosovan-rock band Oda. At home, her father would perform his own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at age five. At the age of nine she learned how to sing. Lipa sang If I'm Not Gotta You from Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera on YouTube. The year 2014 was the year that Lipa has signed a deal in partnership with Warner Bros. Records. The singer released her debut single New Love in August of 2015.
